collection and storrage of pollen

I collect my pollen early in the morning and let it dry for 24 hours. then i label and store it in the micro tubes untill I am ready to use it.

I then collect all the pollen in the fibers of a cotton swab. This make for easy hybridization, all you have to do is pull it out of the freezer and let it come to room temprature before opening the cap. ( this keeps condensation from building up isde and on the cotton swab. That is what will shorten the life of your pollen) The just go out into the garden and dab away. you dont have to worry about seeing noticable pollen on the pistle it dose not take that much.

Make sure you label and date your tubes.

and store it in the freezer for up to 2 years or longer.
